Hello, I’m Kris Risner. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various roles that have shaped my career in web design and digital marketing.

Early Career and Education
My journey began with a deep-seated passion for creativity and technology. I earned a BA in Interactive Media and Web Design from Lindenwood University after initially exploring photography at the Art Institute of St. Louis. This combination of visual and interactive media provided a solid foundation for my future endeavors.

Freelance and Avahi Design
I launched my career by founding Avahi Design, a freelance venture that allowed me to dive into a wide range of projects. This period was instrumental in refining my skills in custom web development, e-commerce solutions, and project management, and it set the stage for my approach to client-focused web design.

VIE Media
Joining VIE Media marked a significant milestone in my career. As Director of Web Services, I was responsible for creating WordPress websites that were not only visually stunning but also performed flawlessly across devices. This role expanded into becoming the Chief Executive Officer, where I guided the agency’s strategic direction and spearheaded key initiatives in SEO, Google Ads, Social Media, Web Design, and our unique Digital Foundations program. This program was particularly impactful, providing businesses with a comprehensive approach to building a strong online presence.

Community Involvement and Education
Beyond my professional work, I am deeply committed to education and community engagement. Through my YouTube channel, I share valuable insights into web design, branding, and digital marketing, aiming to empower others in the digital space. Additionally, I co-hosted The St. Louis Podcast, where we celebrated the entrepreneurial spirit of St. Louis by featuring conversations with the city’s most inspiring entrepreneurs, creators, and personalities.
